The Regatta sailed from Italy earlier this month to kick off the first cruise of the new Explorations by Norwegian brand.
Recently retired from the Oceania Cruises fleet, the 684-passenger ship entered service for the new brand on September 1, 2026.
With a product aimed at the Australian market, Explorations by Norwegian is now offering what it said is the longest cruise in the industry.
The 371-day world voyage departed from Civitavecchia and will include visits to more than 230 destinations.
In a series of social media updates that celebrate the departure, the company highlighted the planning and anticipation for the cruise.
“We started with a blank map and a simple question: what’s the right place to be, at the right time of year? From there, 360 days of exploration and the world’s longest cruise was born,” Explorations by Norwegian stated.
The brand also highlighted the choice of the Regatta for its fleet, which was originally built for Renaissance Cruises in the late 1990s.
“The Regatta reaches the places most cruise ships never see, yet somehow still feels like coming home each evening,” the company noted.
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, the 30,200-ton vessel will sail for the MyCruises-backed brand as part of a two-year charter agreement.
According to its website, Explorations by Norwegian was developed by Ignite Travel Group in collaboration with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.
In addition to its full 371-day world cruise, the company is also offering shorter segments in various parts of the world.
Available itineraries sail to Scandinavia, Southeast Asia, the Far East, Alaska, Central America, the Amazon and the Mediterranean, among others.
The cruises are said to combine “iconic cities, remote coastlines, cultural landmarks and natural wonders,” visiting all six inhabited continents.
Explorations by Norwegian said that the cruises do not “simply move from port to port” but offer a deeper sense of each region with late departures and overnight stays.
