The Norwegian Sky is ending its cruising career for Norwegian Cruise Line on September 9, 2026. With a repositioning voyage to the Middle East cancelled earlier this year, the vessel is bidding farewell to the company’s fleet after a nine-night cruise to the Mediterranean.

Visiting Spain, France, Italy and Greece, the voyage departed from the Port of Barcelona on August 31, 2026.

In a statement sent to guests onboard for the last sailing, Norwegian noted that some onboard services would be unavailable or adjusted.

“As you may know, this sailing marks Norwegian Sky’s final voyage as part of the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet before it begins an exciting new chapter,” the company’s letter read.

“As part of preparations taking place following this cruise, a limited number of onboard venues, services and activities will be adjusted during your sailing.”

Norwegian added that the statement was aimed at allowing guests to plan accordingly and make the most of their time onboard.

The company noted that all onboard shops were unavailable for the sailing, while the ship’s Art Gallery closed on September 2, 2026.

Guests requiring mobility or respiratory equipment were asked to make arrangements before sailing, Norwegian added, specifying items such as powered scooters, manual wheelchairs and oxygen concentrators.

The company also said that any spa treatments scheduled for September 8, 2026, were being automatically canceled, as the venue was scheduled to close the day before. A full refund was reportedly issued to passengers’ onboard accounts.

“While these select offerings will be unavailable, many of the experiences that make a vacation with Norwegian so memorable remain available throughout your voyage, including our restaurants, bars and lounges,” the company added.

The Norwegian Sky is scheduled to be delivered to Cordelia Cruises later this month ahead of kicking off a series of cruises in India for its new operator.
