The Carnival Jubilee made its inaugural visit to Celebration Key earlier this week as part of its first cruise to the Bahamas.

Sailing from Galveston, the ship is offering an eight-night itinerary that includes visits to three destinations in the country.

According to Carnival Cruise Line’s Brand Ambassador John Heald, the maiden call was celebrated by Jubilee’s officers.

Captain Andrea Catalani was joined by other officers and Bahamian pilots on the bridge to mark the occasion.

The first call to the company’s private destination in Grand Bahama took place on September 22, 2026.

In addition to Celebration Key, the ship’s current itinerary also features visits to Nassau and RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay.

As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, the Carnival Jubilee is adding new itineraries to the Bahamas starting this month.

The ship is now scheduled to offer an alternating schedule of six-night cruises to the Western Caribbean and eight-night cruises to the island country.

In related news, Carnival recently announced that the new Carnival Tropicale is also scheduled to sail to the Bahamas from Galveston.

Currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, the Excel-class ship will offer itineraries from Texas during its maiden season.

Starting in April 2028, the 183,900-ton ship will offer a series of four- to eight-night cruises to a range of destinations from its homeport on the Gulf Coast.

The longer sailings will feature a series of destinations in the Bahamas, including Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay and Nassau.

With the Tropicale taking over the weeklong cruises from Galveston, the Carnival Jubilee will offer short cruises from Texas for the first time.

The 2023-built ship will operate a mix of four- to eight-night cruises to Mexico and the Western Caribbean visiting destinations such as Isla Tropicale and Progreso.
