Virgin Voyages recorded the biggest revenue day in company history on Thursday, August 13, surpassing its previous Black Friday 2025 record and marking the latest milestone in a year of momentum for the company.
The day was fueled by demand for Virgin Voyages’ first Scandinavia and Baltics season, with five new itineraries sailing from Amsterdam aboard the Valiant Lady in summer 2028.
Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, said: “Breaking a record on a random Thursday in August seems odd until you realize all of the momentum we’ve built over the last eight months. It’s pretty incredible, but what excites me most is knowing we’re now the go-to brand for anyone traveling without kids.”
The Northern Europe season accounted for more than half of the day’s total revenue, the company said in a press release.
August booking pace jumped from 20 percent above the prior year entering the day to more than 45 percent above it exiting, while the 11-night “Arctic Circle” voyage emerged as an early standout with unprecedented demand.
Virgin has also credited the record day to a culmination of a record Wave season; its Boatchella initiative and its co-branded Content Creator Voyage with TikTok.
Other impacting factors include:
- Its AI-powered travel assistant
- The Valiant Lady glow-up with fresh spaces and experiences, and
- The Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady meeting off the coasts of Ibiza and Iceland.
Virgin Voyages added that as adults-only travel booms, the company is at the forefront of the trend and aims to offer a boutique hotel-at-sea experience for travelers seeking a curated and elevated experience.
According to Deloitte’s 2026 Summer Travel Survey, travelers expect to spend 17 percent more on their longest summer trip than last year, with many putting those dollars toward better experiences, and Virgin said this plays directly into its offering: value without compromising the experience.
