The Carnival Freedom sailed from Port Canaveral on Tuesday to kick off a trans-Atlantic crossing to Spain.
Sailing to Barcelona, the 14-night cruise will feature visits to destinations in the Bahamas, Morocco and Spain.
The itinerary is highlighted by a visit to Carnival’s private destination of Celebration Key, which will be followed by nine days of cruising in the Atlantic.
In late August, the Carnival Freedom will arrive in Tangier before entering the Mediterranean for visits to Málaga and Alicante.
The 2,974-passenger vessel will then end its repositioning voyage in Barcelona on September 1, 2026.
Before embarking on a cruise to the Western Mediterranean in October, the Carnival Freedom is expected to undergo a drydock in Europe.
In addition to routine maintenance, the vessel is set to receive minor updates to its public areas and features. Details of the project will be revealed at a later date.
The 2007-built ship is scheduled to welcome guests back for an eight-night cruise to Spain, France, Italy and Malta.
Sailing roundtrip from Barcelona, the cruise will visit Marseille, Livorno, Naples and Valletta starting on October 9, 2026.
The Carnival Freedom is then set to begin a repositioning voyage back to North America in mid-October.
The 13-night cruise will sail to Spain, the United Kingdom and the Bahamas before arriving in Port Canaveral. Ports set to be visited include Alicante, Málaga, Gibraltar and Celebration Key.
The Carnival Freedom is scheduled to resume its regular schedule of short cruises to the Bahamas ahead of the 2026-27 winter season.
Sailing from Port Canaveral, the ship will offer four- and five-night itineraries that feature visits to Nassau, Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay.
Taking over the itineraries currently being offered by the Carnival Sunshine, the Freedom is scheduled to reposition to Norfolk in May 2027.
