The new American Beauty is scheduled to enter service in September 2028, according to American Cruise Lines’ website.

As the latest ship to join the company’s fleet of modern riverboats, the 180-guest vessel will spend its inaugural season sailing on the Mississippi River.

Published deployment plans show the Beauty embarking on its maiden voyage from St. Louis on September 1, 2028.

For its first cruise, the ship will offer American’s “Upper Mississippi” itinerary, visiting Alton, Hannibal, Muscatine, Davenport, Dubuque, La Crosse, Winona and Red Wing before ending in St. Paul.

The 6,000-ton vessel will continue to operate the eight-night cruise through late October 2028, before switching to different itineraries on the river.

In November 2028, the American Beauty will offer the company’s new “Gulf Coast” itinerary, which sails to destinations in Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi and Alabama.

Highlights of the itinerary include visits to Pensacola, Mobile, Ocean Springs, Biloxi, Gulfport and New Orleans.

Eight departures of the seven-night itinerary are currently available for booking through late December 2028.

According to the company, the newbuild will reposition to the Pacific Northwest in 2029, offering cruises on the Columbia and Snake Rivers.

American Cruise Lines said that the ship will be a sister to the American Encore, the American Anthem and the American Grace.

American said the vessels were designed to offer the “most elevated river cruise experience in America.”

The class is highlighted by larger-than-average staterooms, including a 1,500-square-foot suite that offers panoramic views and a wraparound private balcony with outdoor seating and dining.

American is also welcoming five additional ships to its fleet in the near future, including the American Ranger, which enters service in September 2026.

The vessel will be followed by the American Anthem, the American Navigator and the American Mariner in 2027.

In addition to the American Beauty, the American Grace is also scheduled to welcome its first guests in 2028.
