Revamped Visual Identity Unveiled for Acapulco Cruise Port

Acapulco Cruise Port unveiled its new brand identity during a recently held event.

The new logo is said to draw inspiration from one of Acapulco’s most recognizable symbols, the cliff divers of La Quebrada, while the turquoise color reflects the waters of Acapulco Bay.

The event brought together representatives of the Government of the State of Guerrero, the Administración del Sistema Portuario Nacional Acapulco, S.A. de C.V. (ASIPONA Acapulco), Global Ports Holding (GPH), Acapulco Cruise Port, tourism stakeholders and members of the local community.

“Today marks an important milestone in the valued partnership between GPH, ASIPONA, and the good people of Acapulco,” said Mike Maura, Jr., regional director, Americas, Global Ports Holding.

“This handover signifies the strong collaboration and partnership between ASIPONA and GPH and our shared commitment to Acapulco’s cruise tourism sector. We are thrilled to be here in Acapulco and are excited with what the future holds.”

The event also recognized the appointment of Emilio Vázquez Villanueva as the port’s general manager, who will lead the local GPH team and work with ASIPONA Acapulco, government agencies, cruise lines and community stakeholders to guide port operations and phased development.

The unveiling follows the signing of a 24-year concession agreement between GPH and ASIPONA Acapulco for the operation and development of Acapulco Cruise Port.

Under the deal, GPH will operate and progressively invest in the area, with planned improvements focusing on modernizing the cruise terminal, improving passenger flow, enhancing operational efficiency and safety, among other things.

In parallel, ASIPONA Acapulco is set to build a new 350-meter cruise pier, scheduled for completion during the first quarter of 2027.
