The MSC Preziosa recently arrived in Svalbard for the first of its two scheduled visits to the Norwegian archipelago in 2026.
Sailing from its summer homeport in Hamburg, the MSC Cruises vessel arrived at Longyearbyen as part of a 14-night cruise to Norway and the North Cape.
One of the few large cruise ships sailing to the destination this year, the Preziosa spent approximately 14 hours docked at the port in Spitsbergen on June 28, 2026.
Other highlights of the itinerary included an overnight visit to Honningsvag, from which guests were able to visit the northernmost point of continental Europe, the North Cape.
The MSC Preziosa also sailed to the ports of Tromso, Molde, Olden and Stavanger as part of the two-week itinerary.
As the only MSC Cruises ship scheduled to visit Svalbard, the Preziosa is set to return to Longyearbyen on August 15, 2026.
The new call will be part of a similar 14-night cruise that also features visits to other destinations in Norway, such as Olden, Molde and Stavanger.
MSC is also returning to Svalbard in 2027 and 2028, with two cruises sailing to Spitsbergen onboard the Preziosa each year.
Now operating in Northern Europe on a year-round basis, the 2013-built vessel is scheduled to offer a range of itineraries in the region, such as the British Isles, the Baltic and Scandinavia.
The ship’s program is also highlighted by week-long winter itineraries to Western Europe that sail to ports in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands.
According to its published deployment, the MSC Preziosa will continue to operate in Northern Europe through at least late 2028.
The vessel arrived in the region earlier this year, after completing a winter season in South America, with itineraries sailing to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
