Critical Minerals Corporation Buys Ocean Endeavour for $8.6M

Ocean Endeavor

Critical Minerals Corporation (CRML) has purchased the Ocean Endeavour for €7.5 million (around $8.6 million) to use as a worker accommodation vessel.

The 180-guest ship will provide flexible housing capacity for project personnel in the mining company’s ongoing development in Qaqortoq, Greenland, minimizing additional demand for local housing and hotel capacity.

As an ice-strengthened vessel, it is well-suited for year-round activities associated with the development of the Tanbreez critical minerals project, the company said in a press release.

CRML intends to moor the vessel next to the project to support site operation, which will require approval from the Government of Greenland.

She is also expected to facilitate transportation throughout the region.

The 1982-built ship was listed for sale in mid-2025 by its previous owner, SunStone Maritime Group.

Most recently, it was chartered by the Danish Ministry of Defense, alongside NATO operations, to serve as a floating accommodation in Nuuk, Greenland.
