Carnival Cruise Line is monitoring a developing storm that is set to impact the Gulf Coast, according to an update shared by Brand Ambassador John Heald.

After departing from Galveston on Thursday, the Carnival Breeze is one of the ships that could be impacted by the weather system.

Offering a four-night cruise to the Western Caribbean, the 3,650-passenger vessel is scheduled to visit the Mexican port of Cozumel before returning to Texas.

“At this time, there are no changes to our operational plans for your cruise, but we will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated,” Heald explained.

He added that Carnival’s Fleet Operations Center is actively following Bertha, as the storm is expected to impact the Gulf Coast later this week.

In addition to the Carnival Breeze, the Carnival Dream and the Carnival Jubilee are scheduled to visit Galveston for turnaround calls over the next few days.

Carnival is also currently operating out of New Orleans and Tampa, with the Carnival Valor, the Carnival Liberty and the Carnival Paradise sailing from the ports. No itinerary changes were confirmed for any of the ships at press time.

In related news, Royal Caribbean adjusted the itinerary of the next cruise of the Navigator of the Seas due to weather conditions on the West Coast.

Sailing from Los Angeles, the vessel will drop a planned visit to Ensenada due to adverse weather in the region.

With the call to the Mexican port cancelled, the ship is scheduled to make visits to Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlán before returning to California.

Earlier this month, the company cancelled a cruise in the Far East due to the impact of a typhoon on the Chinese coast.
