Alfred Maritime Rolls Out AI Tool for Energy Efficiency

AI Alfred

Alfred Maritime has launched Alfred AI, its platform that complements and can be fully integrated into its flagship product, the Meyer Energy Management System (MEMS), co-developed with Meyer Turku.

Noting that the latest product provides advisory for energy efficiency, Alfred Maritime explained that more details will be revealed in the coming weeks.

“While we already presented AI functionality to some customers in 2025, we were still unsure about the model’s answers. It took us a lot of sweat and tears to advance to the stage where we fully believe in it. That stage is now reached,” said Paul Meyer, managing director.

The new platform is described as having been widely expanded in collaboration with Meyer Turku Energy Efficiency team, with its capabilities going beyond summarization into reasoning across ship systems.

It incorporates sensor data, which is processed and tagged with the company’s standardization approach, and specially codified ship domain knowledge, which is used in the reasoning process of the model.

The company described this as another step forward to digitalizing fleet operations and advance energy efficiency, compliance, safety and maintenance for onboard and onshore teams.
