Royal Caribbean International’s Liberty of the Seas recently resumed service after undergoing a refurbishment project at a shipyard in France.
As part of the latest round of refits of the Royal Amplified project, the vessel debuted a series of enhancements and updates.
In line with other ships in the company’s fleet, the Liberty now offers a refreshed pool deck with a look inspired by the Caribbean.
The space also offers new casitas for daily rental, as well as Royal Caribbean’s signature The Lime & Coconut pool bar.
The project also included the expansion of the vessel’s Casino Royale and the debut of the Royal Escape Room concept.
The vessel introduced new food and beverage choices as well, with the addition of a new Starbucks and the debut of Izumi Teppanyaki, which offers Japanese cuisine and a hibachi experience.
Other changes included the debut of a new hull livery, which now features the ship’s name in larger lettering as well as an updated logo.
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, Royal Caribbean added 68 new staterooms to the ship during the drydock.
Set to spend the upcoming summer season sailing from the United Kingdom, the vessel welcomed guests back in Southampton on May 29, 2026.
For its first sailing after the refit, the Liberty is offering a two-night weekend cruise to the French port of Le Havre.
As part of its summer season in Northern and Western Europe, the Freedom-class vessel is set to operate a series of itineraries from Southampton.
The deployment is highlighted by weeklong cruises to Northern Spain and Portugal, as well as short sailings to Belgium, France and Germany.
The 2007-built vessel will also offer itineraries to the Norwegian Fjords and Scandinavia, in addition to cruises to the Baltic and the North Sea.
In mid-October, the Liberty embarks on a repositioning cruise to North America ahead of kicking off a year-round schedule in the Caribbean.
Sailing from Galveston, the vessel offers four- and five-night cruises to Mexico that include visits to Cozumel and Costa Maya.
