The former Seabourn Sojourn entered drydock in Nagasaki in early June after being handed over to Mitsui Ocean Cruises earlier this year.
Joining the former Seabourn Odyssey in the company’s Japan-based fleet, the 450-passenger vessel is being adapted to offer Mitsui’s “Funatabi” concept.
The 2010-built ship is scheduled to welcome guests for its maiden season on September 20, 2026, with an inaugural season featuring short cruises from a range of Japanese ports.
Vasco da Gama

The Vasco da Gama recently returned to Damen’s shipyard in Brest to address a series of technical issues that had originally taken the ship out of service in April.
As reported by Cruise Industry News, Nicko had to cancel five cruises onboard the 1994-built vessel and shorten its world voyage.
In its latest update, the company said that a recent assessment indicated the need for additional repair work onboard the ship. The Vasco da Gama is currently scheduled to welcome guests back on July 2, 2026.
Heritage Discoverer

Shipyard: Bredo Dry Docks (Bremerhaven, Germany)
The former Exploris One arrived at a shipyard in Bremerhaven in late May to start its conversion into the new Heritage Discoverer.
Acquired by Heritage Expeditions in late 2025, the 1989-built vessel is scheduled to undergo significant work before entering service later this year.
Also scheduled to sail for Polar Latitudes Expeditions, the Discoverer will make its debut in Antarctica later this year before heading to Australia and Asia.
