AD Ports Group recently launched cruise services at three ports in Egypt’s Red Sea Coast: Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Safaga.
According to a press release, the group is operating cruise terminals at the three ports after signing a 15-year concession agreement with Egypt’s Red Sea Ports Authority.
In addition to managing, developing and operating the facilities, the company is also handling associated ferry operations in the region.
“The launch of AD Ports Group’s cruise and ferry terminal services in Egypt underscores our commitment to advancing cruise tourism across the Red Sea, while driving sustainable economic value in the markets where we operate,” said Noura R. Al Dhaheri, CEO of Cruise Business at the AD Ports Group.
“Through close collaboration with our partners, we will continue to elevate passenger experience by delivering world-class facilities and seamless services.”
AD Ports Group also highlighted Aroya Cruises’ recent operations in the region, including short cruises to its three cruise terminals.
Sailing from its homeport of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, the Aroya visited Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Safaga between early May and early June.
According to the company, the 150,000-ton vessel also became the largest ship to dock directly at the Sharm El Sheikh Cruise Port.
AD Ports Group said it worked in close collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Transport and the Red Sea Ports Authority to upgrade the port’s docking capabilities and make the operation possible.
After its initial deployment in the region, the Aroya is scheduled to make additional visits to the group’s ports in Egypt starting in September.
The 2017-built vessel will also visit a fourth cruise port managed by AD Ports Group in the Red Sea: Aqaba in Jordan.
Currently repositioning to the Eastern Mediterranean, the Aroya will visit the destinations as part of a series of three- to five-night itineraries departing from its homeport in Jeddah.
