MSC Announces Updated 2026-27 Season in South America

MSC Seaview

MSC Cruises recently adjusted its plans for the 2026-27 season in South America, which will see five ships sailing from Brazil and Argentina.

The changes come after the addition of the MSC Seaview to the region’s lineup. Initially set to offer itineraries in the Caribbean during the season, the vessel was redeployed after the cancellation of MSC’s 2026-27 season in the Middle East.

Upon arriving in South America in November, the 2018-built vessel will offer seven-night cruises to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

Taking over part of the itineraries originally announced for the MSC Divina, the MSC Seaview will sail from Santos, Buenos Aires and Balneário Camboriú through March.

As a result, MSC adjusted the deployment of the Divina, which will now focus on three- and four-night itineraries from Santos.

The MSC Musica also had its schedule updated, dropping cruises to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay from Santos in favor of additional sailings from Paranaguá, Itajaí, and Rio de Janeiro.

Returning to South America following a major refurbishment, the 2006-built ship will now offer a new seven-night itinerary that focuses on the Brazilian coast between late December and late February.

The Musica is also set to offer short cruises from Santos to destinations in Rio de Janeiro in November, December and March.

According to Ignacio Palacios, sales and revenue manager in Brazil, the changes are aimed at adjusting the company’s offerings in the Brazilian market.

“We decided to have the MSC Divina offering only short cruises through the end of the season. We have a year with lots of national holidays, so having shorter itinerary choices facilitates our guests’ vacations,” he said during a travel agent conference in late April.

“We are also increasing the offerings for guests who live near Rio de Janeiro or in Brazil’s South region,” Palacios explained.

Passengers booked on itineraries that are being taken over by the MSC Seaview will have their bookings adjusted automatically, he added.

“We will provide support and all the assistance so that this change does not affect the experience of the customers,” Palacios noted.

Two additional ships will also sail in the region during the 2026-27 season: the MSC Virtuosa and the MSC Splendida.

As part of its inaugural season in Brazil, the Virtuosa is scheduled to offer seven-night cruises from Santos, Salvador and Maceió.

Returning for another winter in South America, the Splendida offers longer cruises to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay departing from Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.
