MSC Musica to Sail from Paranagua, Itajai and Rio in 2026-27

  • March 8, 2026
MSC Musica

The MSC Musica will sail from three additional homeports during its 2026-27 winter season in Brazil and South America.

As part of a series of changes to MSC’s plans in the region, the vessel will offer departures from Paranaguá, Itajaí, and Rio de Janeiro between January and February.

Sailing from its new homeports, the ship will offer seven-night cruises that also feature visits to Búzios, Ilha Grande and Ilhabela.

The itineraries were initially set to be offered by the MSC Lirica, which had its season in South America cancelled earlier this year.

Six sailings will be offered by the MSC Musica, which was originally set to offer short cruises departing from Santos during the timeframe.

With the ship set to undergo a refurbishment later this year, the move will mark the first time that the MSC Yacht Club is available for cruises departing from Paranaguá.

In addition to the 2,550-guest vessel, MSC is deploying the MSC Virtuosa, MSC Divina and MSC Splendida in South America during the upcoming winter season.

Debuting in the region, the MSC Virtuosa is scheduled to offer itineraries departing from Santos, Maceió, and Salvador.

The MSC Divina returns to South America after more than a decade for cruises that sail from Santos, Balneário Camboriú, and Buenos Aires.

Originally set to offer cruises departing only from Buenos Aires, the MSC Splendida will also sail from Rio de Janeiro.

In line with refits carried out onboard the MSC Magnifica and the MSC Poesia, the MSC Musica is set to undergo a modernization project during its upcoming refurbishment.

The project includes the addition of MSC’s ship-within-a-ship complex, as well as the creation of new dining venues and refreshed public areas.

Built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France, the MSC Musica entered service in 2006 as the first in a series of four ships known as Musica class.
