Costa Cruises will introduce a new itinerary in the Western Mediterranean as part of its 2027 summer season.
Focusing on destinations in Italy and France, the new seven-night cruise will be operated by the Costa Fascinosa.
Sailing from multiple homeports, the itinerary features visits to La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Salerno and Messina, in addition to Toulon and either Genoa or Savona.
Guests will be able to join the 3,012-passenger ship for the weeklong cruise in Civitavecchia, Toulon and Savona or Genoa.
As part of Costa’s Sea Destinations program, guests will also take part in three special events, including a stop at the darkest spot of the Ligurian Sea for stargazing.
The Costa Fascinosa will also stop in front of the Faraglioni Island in Capri Bay for guests to watch the sunset during a party.
A similar event is set to take place in front of the Stromboli Volcano, with the vessel anchoring amid the Aeolian Islands for a sunset reception that includes an aperitivo of local specialties.
One of three Costa ships in the region for the summer, the 2012-built vessel is set to offer the new cruise between early April and late May 2027.
A special eight-night itinerary that adds a visit to Ajaccio, in France’s Corsica Island, will also be offered in mid-May.
Starting in June, the Costa Fascinosa kicks off a series of seven-night cruises to other destinations in the Western Mediterranean, including ports in Spain, France and Italy.
The peak summer itineraries are highlighted by stops in Ibiza and Valencia, as well as Palma de Mallorca, Olbia, Marseille, Toulon and Savona.
In addition to the 114,500-ton ship, Costa’s 2027 summer in the Mediterranean also features the Costa Smeralda, the Costa Toscana, the Costa Serena, the Costa Deliziosa and the Costa Pacifica.
While the first two will offer weeklong cruises in the Western Mediterranean, the remainder of the ships will sail in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Returning to Europe after a decade-long hiatus, the Costa Serena is one of the highlights of the season with itineraries to Greece and Malta departing from Sicily and Southern Italy.
