Villa Vie Residences welcomed a new captain to its team this week, the company announced in a social media update.

After previously serving as staff captain onboard, Captain Emanuele Giudice will be sharing rotation with Captain Valentin Giuglea as master of the Odyssey.

“Captain Emanuele looks forward to leading the Odyssey with professionalism, care and a strong dedication to keeping our floating community safe and thriving,” Villa Vie stated.

According to the company, Giudice began his maritime career in 1986 and has spent more than 25 years in the cruise industry, rising from first officer all the way to master.

The company noted that he worked on a wide range of vessels, including ships from the Carnival fleet, as well as the Vidanta Elegant, the Ocean Atlantic and the Aegean Majesty.

“A third-generation mariner, he still brings the same passion for the sea that he had on day one,” Villa Vie added.

Giudice is described as “open, approachable and deeply committed to the safety” of the company’s residents and crew.

After debuting in Asia earlier this year, the Villa Vie Odyssey is currently sailing in the South Pacific as part of its three-year-long world cruise.

For the current segment of the voyage, the 1993-built vessel is set to visit 36 ports in 13 countries, including destinations in Australia and Vanuatu.

The 103-day itinerary is also highlighted by islands in Tahiti and French Polynesia, such as Bora Bora, Moorea, Raiatea and Papeete.

In 2026, the Odyssey is set to explore Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and the Far East before heading to the Indian Ocean.

Later in the year, the 25,000-ton vessel sails to destinations in India, Sri Lanka and the Middle East before arriving in Africa.

The ship is then scheduled to visit destinations in Madagascar and West Africa while sailing to Southern Europe and the Mediterranean.
