Royal Caribbean International is changing the itinerary of the upcoming cruise of the Brilliance of the Seas, which will sail to the Dominican Republic instead of Saint Lucia.

The change affects a seven-night cruise to the Southern Caribbean that is set to depart from Puerto Rico on November 16, 2025.

According to a statement sent to booked guests, the update is part of the company’s “ongoing itinerary planning process.”

“We’re excited to bring you this refreshed experience and appreciate your understanding as itinerary planning is an ongoing process that requires cruises to have a certain level of flexibility; modifications can occur at any time,” Royal Caribbean noted.

“Sometimes, these changes are the result of a weather impact or issue avoidance, speed restrictions, berth or scheduling conflicts, and agreements we have with the ports we visit,” the company continued.

As a result, the Brilliance of the Seas is now scheduled to visit Puerto Plata instead of Castries on November 22, 2025.

According to the statement, the Radiance-class ship is set to dock at the Taino Bay Cruise Terminal at 7:00 a.m. before setting sail at 2:00 p.m..

“While these itinerary changes are occasionally necessary, please know they’re made thoughtfully, with your experience in mind,” Royal Caribbean added.

In addition to its new visit to the Dominican Republic, the cruise is also scheduled to sail to Tortola, St. Kitts, St. John’s and St. Thomas as scheduled.

Royal Caribbean’s shore excursions for the cancelled visit to Castries will be automatically refunded, the company said. Any port tax surplus created by this change will also be refunded.

“While some will be happy about this change, we know others will not, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience this may cause,” Royal Caribbean added.

Sailing from its winter homeport in Puerto Rico, the Brilliance of the Seas is currently offering a series of seven-night cruises to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean.
