The Costa Favolosa arrived in Santos earlier this month to kick off Costa Cruises’ 2025-26 season in Brazil and South America.

Completing a trans-Atlantic crossing that started in Italy in early November, the 2011-built vessel docked at the port on November 23, 2025.

Part of a two-ship season in the region, the Costa Favolosa is now offering short cruises to other destinations in Brazil, including Ilhabela, Porto Belo and Balneário Camboriú.

The schedule of three- and four-night itineraries runs through mid-December, when the vessel is set to reposition to Buenos Aires.

Sailing from Argentina, the Favolosa offers longer cruises to destinations in Uruguay and Brazil, such as Balneário Camboriú, Montevideo and Ilha Grande.

The eight- and nine-night itineraries also feature visits to Rio de Janeiro, where guests will also be able to board the vessel.

After serving as a floating hotel during a climate summit in Belém, the Costa Diadema is set to soon join the Favolosa for cruises in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

As the second Costa ship in South America, the 2014-built vessel is scheduled for cruises departing from Santos and Itajaí.

The ship’s season starts with a series of three- and four-night cruises to Ilhabela, which will be followed by weeklong cruises to Argentina and Uruguay.

The longer itineraries feature visits to Montevideo and Buenos Aires, in addition to three days cruising in the South Atlantic.

While the Favolosa is set to return to Europe in March, the Diadema’s deployment in the region runs through late April.

The 2025-26 cruise season in South America started in late October with the arrival of MSC Cruises’ Preziosa.

Three additional MSC ships later joined the local lineup, including the MSC Seaview, the MSC Fantasia and the MSC Sinfonia.

Currently crossing the Atlantic, the MSC Armonia is also set to offer regular itineraries in Brazil starting in December.
