Disney Cruise Line is launching the “Discover Your Destiny” mentorship program ahead of the inaugural sailing of its newest ship, the Disney Destiny.
According to a press release, the initiative was designed to spark creativity and open doors to artistic careers for students in its port communities.
The program brings Disney’s storytelling beyond the stage and into classrooms, offering mentorship, hands-on experiences and professional development for educators.
Through partnerships with local organizations, the company said it will connect students with its entertainment professionals, providing resources to help them explore talents in theater, music and arts.
“At Disney Cruise Line, we believe in the power of imagination and the importance of nurturing the next generation of storytellers,” said Beth Thibodaux, director, external affairs, Disney Signature Experiences.
“Discover Your Destiny” gives students the chance to dream big, learn from Disney experts, and see firsthand how creativity can shape their future,” she added.
Through the new program, Disney is creating opportunities for students and teachers to experience the magic of theater and mentorship in key port communities, including Broward County in Florida.
There, students from Junior Achievement South Florida will have a chance to step onboard the Disney Destiny for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Disney Cruise Line entertainment.
In Brevard County, Florida, students from Endeavour Elementary School will be guided by Disney entertainment mentors as they stage their first-ever Disney Musicals in Schools production of 101 Dalmatians.
In the Bahamas, residents of Nassau, Abaco, and Eleuthera will be able to attend a series of initiatives, including a 10-week professional development program for teachers focused on integrating the arts into classrooms.
Disney is also partnering with the Shirley Hall Bass Foundation to support performing arts education and deliver immersive theater and arts experiences.
The company said that its shoreside cast and shipboard crew will volunteer in these programs, fostering meaningful connections and celebrating the transformative power of the arts.
Disney also highlighted its previous investments in programs to inspire young people. The company said that the new initiative builds on a 25-year legacy, reinforcing its commitment to empowering youth and creating pathways for future careers in entertainment.
After arriving in Florida earlier this month, the Disney Destiny is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage on Nov. 20, 2025.
Sailing from Port Everglades, the LNG-powered vessel will offer a series of four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
