Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has unveiled its 2025-26 Antarctic program, featuring the company’s first-ever extended expedition to the Weddell Sea.
The 22-day voyage aboard the Hanseatic Spirit marks a significant milestone for the line, offering an in-depth exploration of one of Antarctica’s most remote and seldom-visited regions.
The itinerary includes landings at Paulet and Devil Islands, sites linked to the 1903 Nordenskjöld expedition and home to large Adelie penguin colonies.
Guests will also have the opportunity to retrace parts of Shackleton’s 1915 Endurance route, with planned Zodiac excursions and wildlife viewing throughout the eastern Antarctic Peninsula, an area known for its dense pack ice and towering icebergs.
The season also includes the ‘Antarctica and Chile’s Fjords’ itinerary, which combines the Patagonian fjords and Antarctic wilderness, and the “Cape Horn & Antarctica Expedition,” offering a chance to land at Cape Horn and explore the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula.
“Our Antarctic expeditions are designed for travelers who seek profound experiences, delivered with world-class comfort and led by experts in the field,” said Isolde Susset, managing director of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. “These voyages invite reflection, discovery, and a deep connection to nature’s most awe-inspiring frontiers.”
All Antarctica voyages will sail aboard the Hanseatic Spirit and the Hanseatic Inspiration.
