Explora Journeys Celebrates Launch of the Troncone of Explora IV

Explora IV

Explora Journeys marked a key construction milestone for the LNG-powered Explora IV with the launch of the troncone, the forward lower section, on April 2.

The ceremony, which took place at Fincantieri’s Palermo shipyard in Sicily, marked the first time this section of the vessel was transferred from land to water. Over 350 guests attended the event, honoring the maritime tradition.

Once outfitting is complete, the bow section will be transported to Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente shipyard near Genoa for final assembly.

Anna Nash, global president, Explora Journeys, said: “We are incredibly proud to reach this significant milestone in the construction of Explora IV. This ship represents our unwavering commitment to delivering a new standard of excellence in luxury ocean travel. Our partnership with Fincantieri, one of the finest shipbuilders in the world, is built on shared values of innovation and the relentless pursuit of quality.”

The Explora IV is set for delivery to Explora Journeys in 2027.
