The MSC Orchestra kicked off a repositioning cruise to Europe earlier this month after completing its winter deployment in South America.
As part of MSC Cruises’ six-ship lineup in the region, the vessel arrived in Rio de Janeiro in late November for a series of three- to eight-night cruises.
Sailing to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, the Orchestra visited a wide range of ports in South America, including Salvador, Ilhabela, Búzios, Buenos Aires and Montevideo.
The vessel sailed to Santos on Mar. 10, 2025, to start a trans-Atlantic crossing to the Mediterranean.
Sailing to Civitavecchia, the 18-night repositioning voyage features visits to destinations in Brazil, Cape Verde, Morocco, Spain and Italy.
The MSC Orchestra is scheduled to call in Maceió, Mindelo, Tenerife and Casablanca on its way to the Western Mediterranean.
Before arriving in Civitavecchia, a port near Rome, the 2007-built ship also visits Barcelona and Naples.
The vessel is then set to offer short cruises in the region before launching a regular seven-night itinerary that includes Italy, France and Spain.
Departing from multiple ports, the cruise features visits to Cagliari, Civitavecchia, Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona and Ibiza.
As the first MSC ship to conclude its winter season in Brazil and South America, the MSC Orchestra will be followed by the MSC Splendida and the MSC Armonia later this month.
Wrapping up their South America seasons, the MSC vessels are set to embark on repositioning voyages in Santos on Mar. 28, 2025.
The MSC Grandiosa and the MSC Poesia follow in early April, while the MSC Seaview sets sail for Europe later that month.
Another company serving the domestic market in South America, Costa Cruises is currently operating three ships in the region.
While the Costa Pacifica begins a trans-Atlantic cruise to the Mediterranean later this month, the Costa Diadema and the Costa Favolosa are set to reposition to Europe in April.
