Costa Cruises recently kicked off its 2024-25 seasonal deployment in South America with the arrival of the Costa Pacifica in Santos.
Cruise Industry News looks at the highlights of the company’s operations in the region, which will include three ships sailing from Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina through late April.
Costa Pacifica
Sailing Season: Nov. 22, 2024, to Mar. 26, 2025
Homeports: Santos and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)
Itineraries: Three- to seven-night cruises to destinations in Brazil
After arriving in Santos in late November, the Costa Pacifica kicked off a series of three- and four-night cruises to destinations in Brazil’s South and Southeast regions.
Before returning to Europa in late March, the Costa Pacifica is also scheduled to offer seven-night cruises departing from Santos and Rio de Janeiro.
Ports of call for the ship’s season in Brazil include Ilha Grande, Angra dos Reis, Búzios, Ilhabela, Porto Belo and Balneário Camboriú.
Costa Diadema
Sailing Season: Dec. 21, 2024, to Apr. 20, 2025
Homeports: Santos and Itajaí (Brazil); Buenos Aires (Argentina); and Montevideo (Uruguay)
Itineraries: Seven-night cruises to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, in addition to three- and four-night cruises in Brazil
Returning to South America for a fourth season, the Costa Diadema is scheduled to offer new itineraries to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
Between late December and early April, the 3,700-guest ship offers regular seven-night cruises to Santos, Itajaí, Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Guests will be able to board the ship at all ports of call.
The Costa Diadema is also set to offer three- and four-night cruises departing from Santos and Itajaí in April, visiting Ilhabela and other destinations.
Costa Favolosa
Sailing Season: Dec. 6, 2024, to Mar. 29, 2025
Homeports: Buenos Aires (Argentina); Rio de Janeiro (Brazil); and Montevideo (Uruguay)
Itineraries: Three- and four-night cruises to Argentina and Uruguay, in addition to eight-night cruises to Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil
The third ship in Costa’s 2024-25 South America deployment is the Costa Favolosa, which offers eight-night cruises from Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo that sail to destinations in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.
The ship is also set to offer a series of short cruises between Argentina and Uruguay that sail to Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Punta del Este.
