American Cruise Lines (ACL) revealed the first details of its upcoming riverboat, which will be named the American Anthem.
According to the company’s website, the 180-guest ship is scheduled to enter service in the Pacific Northwest in early 2027.
As part of ACL’s series of modern riverboats, the Anthem will offer multiple dining venues, as well as a multi-story glass atrium and a fitness center.
The 6,000-ton vessel will also feature a fresh and modern look, which, according to the company, was designed to embody the expectations of today’s travelers.
Currently under construction at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Maryland, the ship will cruise the Columbia and Snake Rivers starting on April 2, 2027.
As part of its inaugural season, the American Anthem offers eight-night itineraries that sail between Portland, OR, and Clarkston, WA.
With departures scheduled through early November 2027, the cruise features visits to four destinations, including Kalama, The Dalles and Richland.
Guests are also able to take part in excursions to other attractions in the region, such as Fort Clatsop, Mount St. Helens, Pendleton, Hells Canyon and Multnomah Falls.
According to ACL, the itinerary allows guests to embark on a journey through the history of the rivers, witnessing “ever-shifting landscapes” such as forested mountains, waterfalls and rocky shores.
Before welcoming the American Anthem to its fleet, ACL is taking delivery of five new ships between 2025 and 2026.
The lineup includes four coastal vessels: the American Patriot, the American Pioneer, the American Ranger, and the American Maverick, as well as another riverboat, the American Encore.
As the seventh vessel in a series that started in 2018 with the American Song, the ship is also scheduled to spend its inaugural season on the Columbia and Snake Rivers.
In addition to the American Song, the American Encore and the American Anthem, the series also includes the American Harmony, the American Jazz, the American Melody, the American Symphony and the American Serenade.
