Silversea announced in a press release that the Silver Whisper departed Singapore on a 70-day, 37-destination Grand Voyage through Asia on Feb. 15, 2025.
According to the company, the cruise will feature eight countries during the voyage: Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and Singapore.
The Silver Whisper will also circumnavigate Japan, calling at Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kanazawa, Hakodate (Hokkaido) and Kobe.
“Farewell to our guests traveling aboard Silver Whisper for the Grand Voyage Asia 2025, the most immersive journey through the continent to depart this year,” said Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea.
“Having spent many years living in Asia, I can attest to the richness of the region’s culture, the charm of its people, the beauty of its nature and the wealth of opportunities for enrichment that await travelers there,” added Hernandez. “Each of our voyages is driven by unique experiences, but this is especially true of our extended sailings.”
“Our destination experts have designed an incredible itinerary for the Grand Voyage Asia 2025 that will showcase the very best that the continent has to offer, such as a circumnavigation of Japan during cherry blossom season, delivered to our guests over 70 days as they journey in Silversea’s trademark level of comfort,” Hernandez said.
According to the company, authentic culinary experiences ashore via Silversea’s Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T.) culinary program will be offered for the first time on the voyage.
Events planned for guests include the following:
- Reception in Singapore: The sailing kicked off at a private Bon Voyage Reception in Singapore on Feb. 14, 2025, at the Andaz Glasshouse.
- Between February 24 and 25, passengers will stay overnight in Bangkok at the Mandarin Oriental.
- On March 25, 2025, the Shinkansen will offer guests the opportunity to see the Sanjūsangen-dō and Kosho-Ji temples.
