New Windstar Ship Gets Hull Paint in Portugal

Star Seeker

Windstar Cruises’ new Star Seeker received a fresh coat of paint earlier in December. Currently under construction at the West Sea shipyard in Portugal, the new vessel is scheduled to enter service in late 2025.

According to an update shared by the company, the 224-guest ship is now sporting a white hull as part of Windstar’s livery.

Originally ordered for Mystic Cruises’ Atlas Ocean Voyages brand, the Star Seeker will debut next December.

The 10,000-ton vessel is scheduled to kick off its maiden season with a trans-Atlantic crossing to the United States.

Sailing from Málaga to Miami, the 16-night itinerary features visits to destinations in Spain and the Bahamas.

The Star Seeker is then set to offer a series of cruises in the Caribbean before repositioning to the Pacific for a summer program in Alaska and Canada.

In late 2026, the vessel will sail to Asia for destination-intensive itineraries in Japan that visit South Korea.

Redesigned for Windstar, the vessel will offer five dining options, a full-service spa with an entrance from the deck above, and a fitness facility.

The Star Seeker will also feature a fresh take on the line’s Watersports Platform, which turns the ocean into an infinity pool by providing guests access to the sea directly from the ship.

In addition to the newbuild, Windstar is also welcoming a second vessel to its fleet in 2026, the Star Explorer.

A sister to the Seeker, the vessel is currently in service for Quark Expeditions and will undergo major refurbishment before debuting in December of that year.

Both ships have ice-strengthened hulls which, according to Windstar, unlock access to new destinations around the world.

The 112-suite vessels are also equipped with the latest safety, propulsion and navigation technology, as well as state-of-the-art green features, such as tier III NOx-rated engines and shore power connections.
