Phoenix Reisen’s Artania kicked off a world voyage for the Germany-based cruise line on December 22, 2024.

After completing a drydock in Bremerhaven in November, the 1984-built ship sailed from Hamburg for a 162-night cruise that sails to nearly 80 destinations around the globe.

According to Phoenix Reisen, the cruise will be one of the longest ever offered onboard its fleet and includes visits to 24 countries and 29 islands on five continents.

After departing from Germany, the itinerary features ports of call in the Atlantic, South America, the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and Africa.

As part of its circumnavigation of the world, the cruise is also set to cross both the International Date Line and the Equator.

The itinerary is highlighted by longer stays in key ports, including Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Bali, Tahiti, Sydney and Singapore.

With an overnight call in Mindelo on Dec. 31, passengers will also be able to spend the New Year’s Eve in Cape Verde.

Other ports of call set to be visited include Tenerife, Canary Islands; Recife, Brazil; Ushuaia, Argentina; Easter Island, Chile; Bora Bora, French Polynesia; Bay of Islands, New Zealand; Melbourne, Australia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Cape Town, South Africa.

In addition to the Artania, the Amadea is also offering a world cruise for Phoenix Reisen during the 2024-25 season.

The vessel sailed from Hamburg in late December and is now operating a 128-night cruise that sails to ports in the Atlantic, the Caribbean, the Pacific and the Indian Ocean.

After offering cruises in Europe and the Atlantic in December, the Amera is scheduled to embark on a 103-night cruise to South America in January.

Circumnavigating the region, the itinerary will visit 52 ports and 15 islands, including destinations in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru and more.
