Celestyal Journey Gets New Features Ahead of Winter Season

Celestyal Journey

The Celestyal Journey now has a number of new features for its debut winter season in the Arabian Gulf, Celestyal announced in a press release.

According to the company, the ship underwent extensive refurbishment en route to Doha, where it arrived on Nov. 28, 2024.

As part of the refit, the ship saw updates to its Junior Dream Suite bathrooms, as well as the addition of Café Nation.

According to Celestyal, the popular specialty coffee bar was first introduced by the Celestyal Discovery in March 2024.

Operated in collaboration with coffee brand Illy, the venue offers a menu of over 90 specialty beverages, allowing guests to personalize their orders.

The selection includes barista-poured hot coffees, herbal teas, hot chocolates, frappuccinos, iced drinks and cold-brewed coffee.

Guests can choose from seven coffee varieties, including five single-origin options, premium blends and decaf.

After completing a summer deployment in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Celestyal Journey sailed to Doha with no guests onboard.

Upon arriving at its new homeport in Qatar, the ship kicked off Celestyal’s maiden season in the Arabian Gulf.

The deployment runs through March 2025 and includes a series of seven-night cruises to Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Khasab, Sir Bani Yas and Dubai, where the ship will remain docked for two days.

Acquired by Celestyal in 2023, the Celestyal Journey was originally built for Holland America Line as the Ryndam.

Before entering service for the company, the ship underwent a multi-million refurbishment in Europe that included upgrades to public areas, cabins and features.

According to Celestyal, the ship currently offers 630 suites and staterooms, seven restaurants, eight bars and lounges, two pools and jacuzzis, as well as a whole deck dedicated to wellness that includes a spa, fitness and wellness areas.

In addition to Holland America and Celestyal, the 1993-built ship also spent time with P&O Australia and Seajets.
