Telenor Maritime announced in a press release a new partnership with Wallix to enhance cybersecurity in the maritime industry.

This collaboration focuses on providing secure remote access solutions in response to the cybersecurity requirements of the new EU NIS2 regulations, which apply to critical infrastructure, including maritime operations.

Combining Wallix’s Identity and Access Management with Telenor Maritime’s communication and digitalization expertise, the partnership will offer ship operators protection against cyber threats, improved operational efficiency and full control over onboard systems, the company said. It also ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and supports the sustainability of maritime operations.

“Our partnership with Telenor Maritime marks a significant milestone in advancing cybersecurity for the maritime industry,” said Laurent Gentil, Wallix global channel director.

Morten Martens Breivik, chief strategic officer at Telenor Maritime, highlighted that the collaboration will help meet strict regulatory standards as well as improve the safety and efficiency of maritime operations.
