AIDA Cruises is making changes to the spring 2025 schedule of three of its ships due to conflicts in the Red Sea area.
The company is said to be adjusting the repositioning voyages of the AIDAprima and the AIDAstella as they return to Europe for the summer.
In light of the current situation in the Red Sea and the Middle East, the vessels will reposition back to Europe by going around Africa.
As a result, several sailings onboard both ships were canceled while others were moved to the AIDAcosma, which will offer a new spring program in the Mediterranean in early 2025.
According to a statement shared by AIDA, all cruises set to take place onboard the AIDAprima between March 2 and March 23, 2025, are now canceled.
Onboard the AIDAstella, canceled sailings include all cruises previously scheduled to depart between April 17 and May 20, 2025.
To make room for its new sailings in the Mediterranean, five departures to the Canary Islands onboard the AIDAcosma in April 2025 were also canceled.
With the vessel in the Mediterranean, some cruises in the region that were previously set to be offered by the AIDAprima will be transferred to the AIDAcosma. These include all the departures scheduled for April 11 – 18, 2025.
In the Canaries, the AIDAprima also takes over the cruise previously scheduled to take place onboard the AIDAcosma on April 12, 2025.
During the 2024-25 winter, the ships are scheduled to operate itineraries in Asia and the Middle East.
While the AIDAprima offers week-long cruises to the Middle East departing from Dubai, the AIDAstella sails varied itineraries in the Far East departing from Thailand, Japan, China and more.
The AIDAstella and the AIDAprima will also offer new repositioning itineraries via the Indian Ocean and Africa, with bookings expected to open in September.
