With the new Star Princess debuting in the region, Princess Cruises is planning its largest-ever season in Alaska in 2026.
According to numbers from the Global Cruise Ship Index by Cruise Industry News, the season will represent roughly an 18 percent increase in terms of berths compared to 2025.
A total of eight Princess ships will sail in Alaska in 2026, featuring the 2025-built Star Princess and the 2022-built Discovery Princess.
The ships will lead a lineup that also includes vessels from different fleet classes, including the Royal Princess, the Emerald Princess, the Ruby Princess, the Island Princess, the Coral Princess and the Caribbean Princess.
Sailing from six homeports, the fleet will bring over 24,600 berths to the Alaska region in 2026, according to Cruise Industry News data.
In 2025, seven Princess ships will be in Alaska: the Discovery Princess, the Royal Princess, the Ruby Princess, the Caribbean Princess, the Sapphire Princess, the Coral Princess and the Grand Princess.
Combined, the vessels feature a total of approximately 20,600 berths, according to the Global Cruise Ship Index by Cruise Industry News.
That number is actually down from 2024. This summer features seven Princess ships, but with a bigger average fleet size, meaning more berths in the region.
Comparing 2024 to 2026, the Princess offer in Alaska will grow by nearly ten percent, with roughly a 2,000-berth increase.
