Princess Drops Park19 Elements from Sun Princess

Park 19 Elements

In statements recently sent to booked guests, Princess Cruises has confirmed that the Sun Princess will not be offering some of the attractions that were initially planned for the new Park19.

The open-deck family zone, which was introduced with the ship, was set to offer nine different activities in a three-story space.

However, some of the attractions have remained closed since the ship’s maiden cruise in the Mediterranean in March.

“We regret to announce that Princess is unable to accept delivery of the Rollglider, Coastal Climb, and Ropes Course features within Park19 onboard Sun Princess,” the company said in the note.

“These experiences will not be opening. We are actively evaluating these areas for recreational opportunities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests,” Princess added.

While the Rollglider was set to become the first attraction of its kind at sea, the Coastal Climb was planned as a deck-high climbing structure.

“Park19 continues to offer a variety of fun and safe recreational options for guests’ enjoyment,” the company said.

Among the activities that are open is the Infinite Horizon, a space that includes leaning tilt walls cantilevered over the side of the ship.

Also available is a Hammock Area, which, according to Princess, offers a series of relaxing hammocks where guests can “take a break from exploring” and hang out with family and friends.

Other features of Park19 include a recreational court, an open-air observation deck, and a dedicated jogging track.
