Montréal Welcomes Le Champlain’s Maiden Call

Le Champlain

Ponant’s Le Champlain made its first visit to Montréal, Quebec on Monday, August 26, the port announced in a statement.

The ship’s inaugural call was commemorated with the traditional plaque exchange between port representatives and Captain Yannick Simon. Beginning this year, the plaque from the Port of Montréal features the artwork All Aboard by Wendake native Manon Sioui.

This year, Port of Montréal anticipates another six maiden calls, including Rivages du Monde’s  World Explorer; Ponant’s Le Lyrial; Regent’s Seven Seas Grandeur; Oceania Cruises’ Nautica; Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ Borealis; and Azamara Cruises’ Azamara Journey.
