Holland America Line’s exclusive De Lijn Gin was awarded a gold medal in the gin category at the Tales of the Cocktail competition in New Orleans in July 2024.
According to a press release, the judges praised De Lijn Gin for its floral and fruity flavors, with one judge noting: “This is a good beginner’s gin for those that are curious.”
Holland America Line’s Senior Manager of Beverage and Dining Operations and Innovation, Drew Foulk, said: “We are incredibly honored to receive a gold medal for De Lijn Gin. This recognition is a testament to our dedication to quality, craftsmanship and innovation. This award inspires our food and beverage team to continue our commitment to excellence and to further elevate the standards in the cruise industry.”
Introduced in 2022 to commemorate Holland America Line’s 150th anniversary, De Lijn Gin is crafted with a blend of Dutch-inspired botanicals, including orange, rose, elderberry, lemon verbena, lemon, raspberry and juniper. Each botanical is cold distilled individually to preserve flavors.
Specially created for Holland America Line, De Lijn Gin honors the brand’s deep connection to its Dutch roots. It is available as the gin of choice in all bars and lounges across the fleet and can be enjoyed in various specialty cocktails on every ship.
