Cunard and Chef Michel Roux Team up for Le Gavroche at Sea Residencies in 2025

Michelle Roux

Cunard announced that two Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux will return to Norway in 2025 for another series of Le Gavroche at Sea residencies, according to a press release.

Chef Roux will oversee four Le Gavroche residencies across four Fjords voyages next year, with two each aboard the new Queen Anne and the Queen Mary 2, between April and August.

The Queen Mary 2 will host the first five-night Le Gavroche takeover at The Verandah during a seven-night roundtrip sailing on April 6. Guests will enjoy a five-course tasting menu crafted by the renowned chef.

Chef Roux will then bring his residency to Queen Anne’s Sir Samuels during her Fjords voyage on May 11, offering guests a selection of his signature seafood specialties and culinary classics.

Katie McAlister, president of Cunard, said: “We’re thrilled to continue our successful Le Gavroche at Sea residencies. Our guests expect exceptional experiences, and having one of the world’s most celebrated chefs on board to create special menus and host exclusive events is truly special.”

On August 15, Michel will return to the Queen Mary 2 for another exclusive takeover of The Verandah, before concluding his series of Le Gavroche residencies aboard Queen Anne on August 31.

Reservations for Le Gavroche at Sea will be available at an additional cost, with each evening’s takeover accommodating up to 60 guests in The Verandah and up to 50 in Sir Samuels.

Michel Roux said: “It is always a privilege to revive the essence of Le Gavroche and I am thrilled to be collaborating with Cunard for a second series of takeovers next year. This project is incredibly rewarding and allows me to craft signature menus that capture the spirit of adventure as well as the art of accessible fine dining. I am hugely excited to get back on board and showcase the beauty of Norwegian seafood to Cunard guests.”

In addition to hosting the residencies, the chef will introduce a new elevated seafood concept.

Oysters at The Champagne Bar on the Queen Mary 2 and Oysters at Carinthia Lounge on the Queen Anne will offer Norwegian seafood each evening of their respective voyages, available on a walk-in basis.

Throughout each voyage, the chef will also conduct a live cooking demonstration in the Royal Court Theatre and serve as an Insight Speaker, sharing stories from his 40-plus-year career in the hospitality industry. Book signing opportunities will also be available.
