Century River Cruises is adding a sixth ship to its river fleet in China this year with the Century Voyage.
According to a press release, the new vessel is set to enter service on the Yangtze River in September 2024.
The Century Voyage offers 236 staterooms, Century Cruises said, and was designed to combine Western comfort with Chinese hospitality.
According to the company, the main features of the new riverboat include a spacious layout and sustainable technologies.
As with Century’s previous vessels, the Voyage will feature electronic propulsion and low-emission systems.
The vessel has also been designed to reduce vibration and noise, the company explained.
A trial verified that the vibration and noise standards of the Voyage meet the highest level of CCS requirements, Century said, and had a central performance that meets or exceeds the design index.
The vessel measures 150 meters in length and 21 meters in width, which is optimized for not only features onboard but for smooth sailing, according to the company.
Each cabin offers over 26 square meters of space, in addition to amenities like private balconies. Staterooms are located far forward on the ship, with public rooms aft.
The common areas are highlighted by the two-story Sisi Lounge, which also offers views out of the front of the ship.
According to Century Cruises, the onboard experience blends Western expectations with Chinese authenticity to cater to diverse tastes and preferences.
As such, the onboard product features freshly made local cuisine prepared by international chefs, customized entertainment and cultural activities, the company added.
With a three-decade history, Century River Cruises currently operates five ships in China’s Yangtze River.
The company’s four- to 11-day itineraries sail between Chongqing, Yichang, Shanghai and Wuhan.
