SunStone Inks Deal for New Expedition Cruise Ship

Sylvia Earle

SunStone Ships will build a seventh Infinity Class vessel as it has come to an agreement with China Merchants for another expedition ship in its highly successful series of newbuilds.

Following the Ocean Albatros, which debuts this year, the newbuild will be delivered in August 2025, according to the shipyard.

SunStone Chairman Niels-Erik Lund said the ship would be the seventh and final in his series of Infinity expedition newbuilds.

SunStone is the largest provider of tonnage for the expedition market, chartering out ships on long-term deals. A charter client was not revealed; previous Infinity newbuilds have been between 120 and about 200 guests.
