The BlueMissionMed Project’s first meeting, hosted by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) was launched on January 36, 2023 in Venice, Italy, with MedCruise as a key partner.
MedCruise was represented by its President, Figen Ayan and Secretary General, Nicky Guerrero.
Ayan delivered a partner’s presentation on behalf of the Association describing the key role of MedCruise in this initiative as well as the Association’s commitment to sustainability and its actions in this respect.
MedCruise now has a direct dialogue with the EU to have a say in the 2025 and 2030 European targets on creating a more sustainable planet, according to a press release.
The event provided an opportunity for MedCruise’s president to meet the key team leading this project and the other partners involved. Details of the Association’s activities, missions and goals were well received by the EU representatives and the other partners of the BlueMissionMed project.
The EU Commission joined this project in order to maximize the synergies within the targets of the mission “Restore our Oceans and Waters” by 2030. Aside from MedCruise, many leading organizations will join efforts as partners to create more sustainable ports in the Mediterranean.
The BlueMissionMed Initiative aims to advance a shared vision for a more healthy, productive and resilient Mediterranean Sea, promoting the citizens’ social well-being and prosperity and boosting economic growth and jobs.
