December Update: Costa Cruises Fleet Locations

Costa Fortuna

With most of its fleet now back in revenue service, Costa Cruises is getting ready for the winter season.

Cruise Industry News tracked the location and itinerary of every ship in the fleet.

 Costa Toscana
Year Built: 2021
Capacity: 5,224 guests
Status: In service
Location: Red Sea

After wrapping up its inaugural season in the Mediterranean, the Costa Toscana is currently sailing to the Middle East. The Excel-Class ship is set to spend the winter season in the region, offering week-long cruises departing from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Costa Firenze
Year Built: 2020
Capacity: 4,232 guests
Status: In service
Location: Atlantic Ocean

The Costa Firenze is crossing the Atlantic Ocean for the first time ahead of its inaugural season in South America. Starting on Dec. 16, the 2020-built ship is set to offer four-to seven-night cruises visiting several ports in Brazil.

Costa Venezia
Year Built: 2019
Capacity: 4,232 guests
Status: Leaving the fleet
Location: Civitavecchia, Italy

Three years after debuting, the Costa Venezia is getting ready to leave the Costa Cruises fleet. Following its final cruise for the Italian brand, the vessel sailed to Civitavecchia, where it’s waiting to soon be transferred to Carnival Cruise Line.

Costa Smeralda
Year Built: 2019
Capacity: 5,224 guests
Status: In service
Location: Western Mediterranean

The Costa Smeralda continues to offer a year-round program of week-long cruises in the Western Mediterranean. The ship’s itinerary for the winter season includes visits to Savona, Civitavecchia, Palermo, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and Marseille.

Costa Diadema
Year Built: 2014
Capacity: 3,700 guests
Status: On operational pause
Location: Marseille, France

After concluding its summer program in the Mediterranean, the Costa Diadema entered another operational pause in November. Currently docked in Marseille, the 2014-built vessel is set to resume guest operations in April, offering 14-night cruises to the Canary Islands and Western Europe.

Costa Fascinosa
Year Built: 2012
Capacity: 3,012 guests
Status: In service
Location: Western Mediterranean

The Costa Fascinosa is currently sailing the first leg of a transatlantic crossing to Central America. Starting on Dec. 23, the ship is set to offer seven-night cruises to the Southern and Eastern Caribbean departing from Guadeloupe.

Costa Favolosa
Year Built: 2011
Capacity: 3,012 guests
Status: In service
Location: South America

After resuming service in October, the Costa Favolosa crossed the Atlantic in late November for a winter season in South America. The 2012-built cruise ship is now offering three- to seven-night itineraries visiting popular ports in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

Costa Deliziosa
Year Built: 2010
Capacity: 2,260 guests
Status: In service
Location: Eastern Mediterranean

The Costa Deliziosa is presently offering seven-night cruises to Italy, Croatia, Montenegro and Greece. Set to depart on Costa’s 2023 World Cruise in early January, the 2010-built vessel continues to sail in the Eastern Mediterranean region through the end of the year.

Costa Pacifica
Year Built: 2009
Capacity: 3,000 guests
Status: In service
Location: Atlantic Ocean

Following a drydock in France, the Costa Pacifica is sailing a 16-night repositioning voyage to the Eastern Caribbean. Extending through mid-March, the ship’s winter program in the region features seven- to 14-night sailings departing from the Dominican Republic.

Costa Serena
Year Built: 2007
Capacity: 3,000 guests
Status: On operational pause
Location: Persian Gulf

Currently anchored in the Persian Gulf, the Costa Serena continues waiting to resume service. Dedicated to the Chinese market until the beginning of the pandemic, the ship remains on operational pause since early 2020.

Costa Magica
Year Built: 2004
Capacity: 2,720 guests
Status: On operational pause
Location: Brindisi, Italy

Another Costa ship out of service, the Costa Magica is presently docked in the Italian port of Brindisi. With its entire cruise schedule cancelled in 2021, the vessel was set to sail for Carnival Cruise Line before the inter-company transfer ended up cancelled in mid-2022.

Costa Fortuna

Status: In service
Location: South America

Completing Costa’s 2022-2023 program in South America, the Costa Fortuna is presently offering three- to eight-night cruises in the region. Sailing from Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo and Buenos Aires, the 2003-built cruise ship visits several ports in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.
