Adora Cruises Coming to Chinese Cruise Market

Adora Cruises

China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s homegrown Chinese cruise brand in partnership with Carnival Corporation will carry the name Adora Cruises when it starts service.

The joint venture brand will introduce its new Vista-class ship, currently under construction in Shanghai, by the end of 2023, according to a press release.

Yang Guobing, chairman, and Chen Ranfeng, CEO, of the joint venture, announced the news on Friday at a local event in China.

Ranfeng said that the brand would combine an international vision with local tastes to create the ideal cruise experience for Chinese guests.

The company said it is committed to being the largest cruise line in Asia through year-round operations of multiple ships from multiple homeports throughout China.

A second newbuild is due to enter service in 2025. The company also acquired the Costa Atlantica and Costa Mediterranea, which could start sailing in 2023 as well.
