According to Norwegian authorities, a cargo ship that had diverted from its course to assist to the Viking Sky’s mayday call has now issued its own mayday call following an engine failure.

The cargo ship could be seen listing, via camera coverage from Norwegian broadcaster NRK.

Local authorities are reporting nine crew will be airlifted off the cargo ship to safety.
