Wismar Berth Upgrades Set for August Debut

A 3.2 million euro project to improve the berth infrastructure in Wismar, Germany, will be done in August, according to a spokesperson.

“In 2017 we are looking forward to 11 calls, and for 2018, we have confirmed 14,” the spokesperson told Cruise Industry News. “In Wismar we only can take ships up to 240 meters in length so in this aspect, we are very satisfied.”

Wismar is a port town on the Baltic Sea, in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is located roughly 45 kilometres east of Lübeck and 30 kilometres north of Schwerin, and is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region.
