Lübeck-Travemünde Eyeing Potential New Cruise Berth

A study to build a new berth in the German port of Lübeck-Travemünde to host vessels 300 meters and longer in length is underway.

“We are limited to a certain vessel size (200 meters); it’s a limited market segment, with luxury ships sailing to exotic parts of the world which means few calls to our port,” noted Anja Kron of Lubeck Cruise.

For the 2017 season, the port is expecting 14 cruise calls from nine different ships, including two turnarounds. Around 12,000 passengers are expected.
