The Wind Spirit is back in service following a $3 million 12-day drydock in Auckland. The job included 48,960 hours of labor, according to Windstar, involving 120 contractors.
Among the big news, the Seattle-based company installed 462-square-meters of new teak deck, and increased usable deck space by some 215-square-feet. The latter was achieved by removing the skylight from the deck three aft pool bar, according to Windstar.
The company was also able to re-use its outdoor teak deck, as the deck proved so thick it was able to be cut into four thinner parts for new lounge flooring.
Technically, the hull received new paint and a slightly updated color scheme. The shaft and propeller assemblies were also removed for routine maintenance and then re-installed.
