The Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, operated by Worldwide Cruise Terminals (WCT), has celebrated the arrival of its one millionth cruise ship passenger during the inaugural call of the Majestic Princess in Hong Kong, according to a statement.
The celebration is just days in advance of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day on July 1st, a general holiday in Hong Kong.
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Jeff Bent, managing director of WCT, said “We have many things to celebrate, including this significant milestone for the terminal, the inaugural call by a beautiful brand new ship and the upcoming momentous 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on July 1st.”
“The arrival of our one millionth cruise passenger today is validation of the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal’s success since its inception in June 2013. Business has grown 90% year on year for four years, and we have received local and international recognition for numerous port management, green, and social responsibility initiatives. We look forward to receiving our second millionth guest in the near future” said Bent.
