Partnering with Parks Canada on deployment, the Ocean Endeavor will offer a 17-day “Out of the Northwest Passage” sailing later this year, with a notable stop to visit the HMS Erebus, which was in the area between 1839 to 1843, and abandoned after she became icebound.
Running a full northern hemisphere season in Northern Canada, Adventure Canada offers a pure expedition product, according to Matthew James Swan, business development director.
“We are leaning toward some comfort features,” Swan told Cruise Industry News for the 2017 Expedition Cruise Market Report.. “We made the move from an older vessel to the Ocean Endeavor in 2015. It’s still very much an expedition ship, but it has some nice comfort features. That is putting us at a higher caliber as an expedition company.”
The company offers a 10-day circumnavigation of Newfoundland in June, and is expected to head back to Scotland in 2018, where it last ran a partial program in 2013.
Later this year the company is offering a cruise on the Hebridean Sky to Antarctica, essentially taking a group on another vessel, but it is most likely a nod to a hint of a bigger plan.
