French Riviera Cruise Club and the Norwegian Epic Host Environmental Ship Tour

The French Riviera Cruise Club (FRCC) organized a so-called environmental tour with Norwegian Cruise Line aboard the Norwegian Epic while in port in Cannes on Oct. 21.

This visit allowed local stakeholders to look behind the scenes on the cruise ship, witnessing their high level of environmental procedures, including waste handling and treatment, according to the FRCC.

Participants were able to visit various areas for air quality, noise, waste management and preservation of the marine environment.

FRCC said that part of the organization’s work is to run an environmental commission with several objectives, including encouraging cruise lines to operate responsibly, from vessel to tour operations, when cruising the French Riviera; offering passengers eco-responsible shoreside tour products; and acquainting local residents, associations and others with the cruise industry.
