New Tenerife Terminal Nearing Completion

“We’ll have our new cruise terminal finished in August,” said Airam Díaz Pastor, commercial director for the Port of Tenerife in an interview with Cruise Industry News. He said the terminal was a 10 million euro investment that the port would recover in eight years.

“The Port Authority has worked closely with our best customers to get the final design,” he added.

The new terminal will feature a berth length of 395 meters and a depth of 10 meters, along with a large check-in area with 50 desks.

The terminal will be the biggest in the region at 8,473-square-meters, with a large staging area for taxis and buses. There are also two state-of-the-art gangways. The entire facility is a five minute walk to the city center.

The port acts as a homeport to lines ranging from Thomson to Swan Hellenic, with over 80,000 passengers turnaround around in Tenerife in 2015, in addition to 563,244 transit passengers.
